Bridgestaff Group are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a large and modern distribution operation in Avonmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified maintenance professional to play a key role in ensuring site infrastructure, engineering assets, and operational equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
This position would suit an experienced electrician or HVAC professional with a strong maintenance background gained within warehousing, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
The Role
Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring site assets remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. You will work closely with internal teams and external contractors, supporting maintenance projects and driving high standards of safety and performance across the site.
As the operation runs 24/7, participation in a call-out rota is required. Successful candidates must be available by phone and able to attend site within one hour should critical incidents arise.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
