Maintenance Technician

What You Will Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, maintaining, and supporting electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery across manufacturing and operational environments. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of automated systems, with a strong focus on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware and software. Working closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams, you will troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime and operational efficiency. How You Will Do It

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain electrical control systems and automation equipment.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimise PLC hardware and software systems.
  • Diagnose electrical and control system faults and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability.
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and commissioning projects.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation, and reports.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and operators as required.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

  • Experience working with electrical control systems, automation equipment, and machinery.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills within automated manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, control circuits, and industrial equipment.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications:

  • University degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or
  • Two-year technical degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting automated production equipment and processes.
