About The Role

A Maintenance Technician is required for student accommodation in central Bath (BA2), offered through Pertemps Bristol Industrial. This full-time position pays £14 per hour with flexible daytime hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, starting immediately. The role involves hands-on upkeep across rooms and shared spaces, preparing them for the upcoming academic year. Duties include repairing locks, handles, furniture, and fittings, replacing bulbs, performing basic electrical fixes, and handling minor plumbing such as taps, drains, and shower doors. Working Hours: Flexible between 8:00/9:00 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM Monday, Wednesday, Friday

We're currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a busy student accommodation site in central Bath. This is a hands-on role where you'll help ensure rooms and communal areas are safe, functional, and ready for residents ahead of the new academic year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the building.
  • Repair door handles, locks, furniture, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Replace light bulbs and complete basic electrical repairs.
  • Undertake minor plumbing tasks, including fixing taps, unblocking drains, and replacing shower doors.
  • Complete painting touch-ups and minor decorating work.
  • Inspect appliances and report any faults.
  • Ensure all rooms meet health and safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from the site team.
  • Support the wider team in preparing accommodation for incoming residents.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, caretaking, or facilities role.
  • Practical skills across general building maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
