About the Role

Location: Banff, Aberdeenshire

Hours: Full Time

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the manufacturing facility and workshop equipment in compliance with site procedure. This will include, but not limited to, the safe and efficient maintenance, repair, and upkeep of machinery, vehicles, tooling, and building infrastructure. The post holder will ensure that all products are efficiently maintained, within the allocated maintenance schedule and ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.

This is an incredibly varied and hands-on role where you'll maintain and repair a wide range of our machinery, workshop equipment, vehicles, tooling, and support the general upkeep of our manufacturing facility. This role will give you the opportunity to apply and develop your technical skills across multiple areas of the business and be a key part of every team we have.

About the Team

As a part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll become part of a hardworking, and skilled team who are always working to high standards and specifications. You will be supported by our Mechanical Chargehand and have a team of skilled Maintenance Technicians working alongside you, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment.

Responsibilities

People

  • Adopt and promote the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stakeholders – clients, colleagues, etc.
  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.

  • Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures, and best practice, ensuring compliance to the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses, or environmental concerns.
  • Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures, and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives.

Product

  • Responsible for general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of equipment, machinery, and building infrastructure to ensure Motive’s Manufacturing facility can carry out its operations & services effectively.
  • Have overall responsibility for performing scheduled regular, preventive, and emergency maintenance as required.
  • Responsible for managing the testing of equipment to ensure timely calibration and replacement of equipment.
  • Work with other departments and individuals to identify required to support Motive’s Manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure all maintenance is properly documented.
  • Responsible for defining and recording work method statements, risk assessments, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ability to read, understand, and disseminate technical drawings and converse with the technical requirements of the task in hand.
  • Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment, and ensure job materials and equipment are correctly used.
  • Identify and provide appropriate tools and equipment, instruction, and technical data to operatives.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repair tasks.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician (Mechanical bias), handyman, or in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and other relevant trades would be preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills with experience with any maintenance software is preferred.
  • Physically able to lift equipment (up to 25Kgs), working at height, and work in confined spaces.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.
  • Well-developed coaching and leadership skills, both on a formal and informal basis.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail with strong organization skills.
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills.
