Maintenance Technician [relocation required] – AC Hotel by Marriott Inverness

Location: Inverness, Scotland

Contract: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, plus excellent benefits

Relocation Support: Temporary accommodation available to help you get settled

Looking to relocate?

Whether you’re in the city or somewhere rural, this is your chance to bring your skills to the stunning Scottish Highlands—and be part of a globally recognised hotel brand with a warm, forward-thinking team.

We’re on the hunt for a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician who’s ready to take ownership of the physical and operational upkeep of our hotel. From Health & Safety leadership to day-to-day repairs, this role is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things right the first time.

To support your move, we offer short-term accommodation for your initial settling-in period, giving you time and space to find your feet and arrange something longer-term.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead all Planned and Preventative Maintenance (bedrooms, plant rooms, equipment, etc.)
  • Take ownership of Health & Safety compliance and due diligence
  • Maintain all physical and electronic records, certificates, and logs
  • Chair the hotel’s Health & Safety Committee
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers for repairs, servicing, and installations
  • Manage the maintenance budget with an eye for cost-efficiency
  • Carry out risk assessments and document all incidents (including RIDDOR)
  • Train staff in key areas: H&S, fire panel/evacuation, manual handling
  • Respond promptly to team and guest maintenance requests
  • Perform routine repairs in lighting, plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and decorating
  • Execute regular fire alarm, sprinkler, and water safety tests
  • Operate technical systems (BMS, HVAC) and hotel platforms (Opera, GXP)
  • Maintain clean and safe workspaces, indoors and out—including green areas
  • Read and record energy usage and meter data

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
