We are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer
To join a leading international manufacturer of precision-engineered components and systems.
This position is specifically focused on the maintenance, fault finding, and repair of CNC machine tools, so applicants must have previous hands-on experience maintaining CNC machinery. The role operates on a days and nights shift pattern.
The Role
Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for keeping CNC machine tools and associated manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities will include:
- Planned and reactive maintenance of CNC machine tools
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Fault finding on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Troubleshooting CNC controls, drives, motors, and sensors
- Responding to breakdowns and minimizing production downtime
- Supporting installation and commissioning of CNC machinery
- Identifying recurring faults and improving machine reliability
- Supporting machine upgrades and refurbishment projects
- Working closely with production and manufacturing teams
- Maintaining maintenance records and technical documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement activities

What We’re Looking For
You should have previous hands-on experience maintaining and repairing CNC machinery, ideally including CNC lathes, machining centres, and/or milling machines.
We are also looking for:

- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol, or similar
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Maintenance Engineering qualification/apprenticeship
- PLC diagnostic experience would be advantageous
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Willingness to work a days and nights shift pattern
This could suit a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, CNC Maintenance Engineer, or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong CNC machine tool experience.
