Ready to play your part?

At AWE, it’s not just a job, it’s far more than that. Our shared purpose is to help keep the nation safe. Could this role be the opportunity for you to play your part? Why not join AWE and play a vital role in maintaining the engineering assets and equipment that support some of the UK's most important national programmes. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be part of a skilled and collaborative team responsible for ensuring plant, equipment and facilities operate safely, reliably and efficiently. You'll support a range of maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and equipment improvements, helping to maximise operational performance and availability. Machine tool experience is beneficial but not essential as training and development will be provided.

  • A completed engineering apprenticeship and relevant engineering/maintenance experience
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • The ability to work safely and follow maintenance procedures
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
