Full Time 36 hours per week
Band 5 Salary Range £34,544 - £43,039 per annum
Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum
Join our engineering team as we invest in the future. We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on individual to step into a structured development role designed to combat industry skills shortages and preserve expert engineering knowledge within our hospital services.
The Opportunity
Are you looking to transition your technical foundation knowledge into a highly secure and specialised healthcare career?
As a Trainee Decontamination Technician, you will work side-by-side with our existing Team to learn the technical skills required to maintain, test, calibrate, fault find and validate a wide range of equipment within the Central Decontamination Unit and Dental Service whilst continuing a commitment to the overall work of the Estates maintenance team. This position includes fully funded access to the required external training required to gain the technical qualifications required and sign off of competencies and progression to the next stage of development will be overseen by our Authorising Engineer (Decontamination). It is envisaged the training programme will take up to 18 months to complete.

Band 5 will be achieved upon successful completion and validation of the training programme. The post holder will remain on their current pay grade until that time
