Job Description
About the Position:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Officer to join the Shire of Broome in our Works Team.
The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Shire of Broome’s civil infrastructure and community assets. The role ensures public facilities and spaces are safe, well maintained, and fit for purpose, while supporting the provision of high-quality services to the community. Through proactive asset management and maintenance activities, the position contributes to community wellbeing, asset sustainability, and the overall presentation of the Shire.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills and a commitment to completing tasks safely and on schedule. They will have experience in the safe use and basic maintenance of hand tools, machinery, and equipment, along with a willingness to learn new skills and undertake further training. A high level of physical fitness is required, as the role involves working outdoors in Broome's challenging climatic conditions. The successful candidate will also demonstrate an understanding of Traffic Management principles and be willing to obtain the relevant certification and undertake associated duties. Applicants must hold a current C Class Driver's Licence and White Card (Construction Industry Induction), while Traffic Management Certification and a High Risk Work Licence will be highly regarded.
