The opportunity
We're working in partnership with a well-established student accommodation provider in Sheffield who is looking to bring in a practical, dependable handy person on a temporary, part-time basis. This is a great opportunity for a skilled trades person or experienced handyman looking for flexible, consistent hours with a supportive team.

- Carry out general repairs, including doors, locks, flooring, furniture assembly and minor joinery
- Handle basic decorating and making good
- Tackle minor plumbing jobs, such as leaking taps, blocked sinks and radiator bleeding
- Complete minor electrical tasks, such as replacing light fittings, sockets and switches, within the limits of your competence
- Respond to repair requests promptly and prioritise urgent issues
- Carry out property checks, including smoke alarms and fire safety equipment
- Prepare rooms for incoming students during turnaround periods
- Keep clear records of completed work and flag any larger issues to the team

Essential
- Proven experience in maintenance, property repairs or general handy work
- Practical, hands-on approach and good problem-solving skills
- Able to manage your own time and work independently
- Friendly, professional manner with students and colleagues
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable (but not essential)
- Background in plumbing or electrical work (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, 18th Edition)
- Previous experience in student accommodation, HMOs or lettings
- Good knowledge of health and safety practices
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
