Major Projects Manager
Salary: Competitive plus bonus plus company car
Are you an experienced project professional looking to play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most significant construction and infrastructure projects?
At Heidelberg Materials UK, we're seeking a Major Projects Manager to support the development, management and delivery of major project opportunities ranging from £10m to £150m. Working closely with our Major Projects Director, you'll coordinate commercial, operational and technical teams to develop winning bids and ensure successful project delivery.
The Major Projects Manager supports the development and delivery of major project opportunities across Heidelberg Materials UK. Working closely with the Major Projects Director and wider business teams, the role coordinates commercial, operational and technical inputs to develop high-quality proposals and support successful project delivery.

The role is responsible for managing allocated major project opportunities, maintaining effective stakeholder engagement, monitoring commercial performance and ensuring projects are delivered in line with customer requirements and Company objectives. The position contributes to the growth of the major projects pipeline through effective planning, coordination and project management.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and coordinating major project opportunities from tender through to delivery.
- Leading bid and proposal activities, ensuring submissions are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Working collaboratively with commercial, operational, technical and procurement teams.
- Supporting contract management, forecasting, pricing and commercial reporting.
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Identifying risks, opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
What we're looking for
- Degree qualified in Construction, Engineering, Commercial Management, Project Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, building materials or a similar sector.
- Knowledge of tendering, project delivery, bid management or commercial management processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project reporting tools.
