Job Description: Major Works Supervisor
Reporting To: Contracts Manager / Operations Manager
About the Role
United Infrastructure is seeking an experienced and proactive Major Works Supervisor to oversee the delivery of major repairs, complex works, specialist projects, and legal disrepair cases within the Social Housing sector.
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, supervising operatives and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as a key point of contact for clients and residents, you will drive excellent service delivery while maintaining compliance with all contractual and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise major repairs, specialist works, and legal disrepair projects from start to completion.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with quality standards, client KPIs, and contractual requirements.
- Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety across all sites.
- Coordinate operatives, subcontractors, materials, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Work closely with schedulers and planners to manage workloads and programme deadlines.
- Carry out pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections, and post-completion inspections.
- Assist with preparing quotations, variations, and costings using Schedule of Rates (SOR).
- Manage outstanding and follow-on works to ensure timely resolution.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, clients, and stakeholders.
- Attend client meetings and provide updates on project progress and performance.
- Oversee and resolve complex repairs and customer escalation cases.
- Conduct final quality checks, sign-off inspections, and issue handover documentation.
- Ensure accurate completion of reports, records, and project documentation.
About You
- Experience supervising repairs, maintenance, major works, or property services contracts.
- Social Housing experience, including occupied properties.
- Strong knowledge of repairs, planned maintenance, and disrepair processes.
- Experience working with Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver against deadlines.
- Experience leading operatives, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.

Essential Requirements
- Proven supervisory experience within repairs and maintenance.
- Social Housing sector experience.
- Knowledge of SOR pricing and contract processes.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong IT and reporting skills.
- Excellent stakeholder and resident liaison experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- SSSTS or SMSTS.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work.
- Relevant trade, construction, or property maintenance qualification.
