Major Works Surveyor
Our client, based in North London, is currently recruiting for a Major Works Surveyor on a permanent contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The annual salary will be £70,632 per annum plus eligibility to earn up to 5% performance related pay.
The ideal candidate will have a Building Surveyor degree or equivalent.
Duties
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Oversee and project manage latent defects and major remedial works across individual buildings, supported by the Head of Special Project
- Procure and manage construction and consultancy contracts for major defect and remedial works project
- Ensure works comply with relevant standards, regulations and fire safety requirement
- Oversee technical solutions to ensure projects are robust, cost-effective and delivered to a high standard
- Liaise with residents, commercial tenants and stakeholders, managing complaints, access and decanting requirements
- Manage contractor and consultant performance, ensuring procurement, contractual and statutory compliance
- Monitor project costs, documentation, handovers and health & safety requirements
- Ensure contractors comply with health & safety procedures and statutory obligations
- Work collaboratively as part of the wider Property Management team

Experience Required
- Experience managing major remedial works, latent defects and construction projects across residential properties
- Strong experience in contractor, consultant and contract management, including procurement, costs and compliance
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships while ensuring Health & Safety, fire safety and statutory compliance
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise Required
- Strong knowledge of building defects, remedial works, construction standards and fire safety requirements
- Skilled in project, contractor and contract management, including procurement, cost control and compliance
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills across residents, contractors and consultants

Rewards and Benefits
- Hybrid working- 2/3 days working from home after 6 weeks
Working Hours
- 35 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
