The team
There are currently no available positions; however, when opportunities arise, successful candidates from our talent pool may be offered contracts on a freelance basis, as and when required.
Become a key part of the magic behind the scenes! Join our team as a Makeup Assistant and ensure every actor looks their absolute best for filming, maintaining character continuity and collaborating closely with the design team in a positive, friendly atmosphere. Utilise your skills on the studio floor and with iPad software to keep everything running smoothly and everyone looking picture-perfect!
The role
Ready to bring characters to life? Join our team as a Makeup Assistant and dive into the vibrant world of television drama! You'll be the go-to for creating and maintaining character looks, from hair and makeup to wigs and special effects. Working with a diverse cast and in a fast-paced production, you'll ensure seamless continuity, collaborate with the design team, and even step into a supervisor role when needed. This is your chance to showcase your artistry, organisation, and problem-solving skills while being a crucial part of the magic behind the camera.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Experience in a Makeup Artist role with 3 or more years experience in a makeup department on a television drama or continuing drama, showcasing the ability to create diverse looks for different characters and settings.
- Proven experience as a Makeup Assistant in a television drama or continuing drama.
- Proven experience in monitoring makeup continuity across filming blocks to ensure consistent appearances of characters throughout the production.
- Demonstrated expertise in hairdressing, including working with wigs and hairpieces as required by the script, highlighting versatility in hairstyling techniques.
- Capability to break down the filming schedule and script to discern makeup requirements while collaborating effectively with the Makeup Supervisor and Designer.
- Ability to handle the demands of long working hours, on-location shoots and night shoots whilst displaying adaptability and resilience in challenging filming conditions.
- Experience in maintaining tactfulness and discretion while working with actors and handling sensitive information on set and in the make up room.
- A good understanding of hygiene and safety standards within a makeup department.
