About The Role

The Education Network Durham & Newcastle seeks a Male PE Teacher for a full-time role in Gateshead, commencing September 2026 on an ongoing basis. Delivering lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, the post holder will plan engaging sessions, assess progress, and foster an inclusive atmosphere. Daily pay ranges from £162.31 to £251.71, dependent on experience. Candidates must hold QTS, QTLS, or equivalent, with secondary-level teaching experience. Strong classroom control and the capacity to inspire pupils are essential. Collaboration with departmental colleagues will support curriculum development, ensuring students remain challenged and motivated throughout their physical education journey.

Male PE Teacher – Gateshead

Are you a passionate and dedicated PE teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in a supportive secondary school? We are seeking a male PE teacher to join a well-established school in the Gateshead area. The role is to begin September 2026 and is on an ongoing basis.

The Role

  • Teaching PE to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils
  • Assessing and tracking student progress
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Maths curriculum

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or relevant qualification
  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities
