The role
As a Support Worker, you’ll work alongside Mikey in his own home in Kinson, getting to know him as an individual and supporting him to communicate, make choices and enjoy the things that matter most to him.
Mikey has his own unique ways of expressing himself and you’ll play an important role in understanding his communication and helping him to be heard. He uses a combination of visual supports, PECS, signs, gestures and a digital communication aid, so patience, attentiveness and a willingness to learn are key.
Life with Mikey is varied and full of opportunities for meaningful experiences. You might spend one day exploring the New Forest, enjoying a coffee and cake at a local café, playing football, listening to music or getting stuck into a puzzle. You’ll encourage Mikey to try new things, build his independence and be part of his local community.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
