We are now looking for an experienced and driven Maltings Area Manager to lead operations across our Stowmarket malting plants.
The Opportunity
This is a key leadership role within our manufacturing operation, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality malt production while developing and inspiring production teams to achieve exceptional results.
Working closely with the Maltings Team you will oversee daily operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage performance and budgets, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a highly respected business at the heart of the global brewing and food sectors.

What You'll Be Doing
As Maltings Area Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage all operational activities across our Stowmarket malting plants.
- Drive production performance, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure products consistently meet customer, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across the operation.
- Develop, coach and motivate production teams to achieve departmental objectives and KPIs.
- Lead operational audits and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Manage budgets and expenditure in line with business objectives.
- Work collaboratively with quality, engineering and planning functions to achieve production goals.
- Maintain oversight of plant condition and identify risks to operational performance.
- Use continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and operational effectiveness.
- Build effective relationships with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support succession planning, training and development of team members.
- Participate in operational planning meetings and provide on-call support on a rota basis.
About You
We are looking for a confident operational leader who can combine technical expertise with a people-focused management style. You will ideally have:
- A minimum of 5 years' management experience within the malting, brewing or food manufacturing industry.
- A Malting Diploma qualification (preferred).
- A Bachelor's degree (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems and manufacturing best practice.
- Experience managing budgets and controlling operational costs.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to remain calm, organised and effective in a fast-paced production environment.
