Mammal Intern Keeper
Location: Millets Wildside, OX13 5HB
Position: Full-Time
Millets Wildlife Park is seeking a motivated individual to assist the mammal team with the care of animals under their section. This is an exciting opportunity to work and develop with a range of mammalian and other species.
About The Role
The successful candidate will be involved within the daily care, training, and welfare of a variety of mammalian species and other species which may include avian, reptilian, invertebrates, aquaria.
Working as part of a dedicated animal team, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of husbandry and presenting educational demonstrations that inspire our visitors.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily care and husbandry of a range of zoological species
- Preparation and distribution of diets.
- Monitoring animal health, behaviour, and welfare, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Maintaining enclosures, equipment, and associated facilities to a high standard.
- Participation within educational presentations, experiences, and other keeper talks
- Assisting with enrichment programmes to promote positive welfare
- Maintaining accurate animal records and training logs
- Supporting conservation, education, and public engagement initiatives
What We Are Looking For
- Experience within animal husbandry and a passion for animal welfare
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of animal care.
- Confident, personable, and professional manner when interacting with visitors.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, flexible, and willing to work weekends, bank holidays, and busy seasonal periods.
