Management Accountant
Location: Gloucester (Head Office with hybrid working) Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per annum plus benefits Contract: Permanent, full time (8:30am – 5:00pm)
Mears Group, a leading provider of housing and care services in the UK, are seeking a proactive and commercially focused Management Accountant to join their Central Finance team.
About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified finance professional looking to develop their career in a dynamic, supportive, and interdisciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing timely and accurate management accounts
- Supporting forecasting and budgeting processes
- Providing valuable financial insights to stakeholders
- Ensuring financial accuracy and improving efficiency/profittability across multiple branches
Collaboratively, you will help:
- Smoothly run central accounts
- Generate high-quality financial reporting and analysis
- Meet monthly management account deadlines
- Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet control accounts
- Analyse financial performance, identifying and investigating variances
- Deliver clear financial insights for both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Handle large data volumes using advanced Excel skills
- Work with business units to drive efficiency and profitability
- Ensure accuracy by challenging financial processes and systems

Key Criteria
- Qualification: CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or near-qualified)
- Technical Skills:
- Strong IT aptitude
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Ability to analyse and interpret high volumes of data
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Clarity of communication, engaging with non-finance colleagues
- Professional relationship-building across teams
- Attitude: Proactive, curious, and personable
