About the Role

We are seeking a qualified accountant to join a growing finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role combines hands-on management accounting and month-end responsibilities with technical accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement.

You will take ownership of a significant part of the month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation process, while also supporting the Financial Controller with more complex accounting areas and ensuring that key processes are well documented, robust, and audit-ready.

This is a hands-on position within a small finance team, so the successful candidate will be comfortable preparing as well as reviewing work. There will also be a strong focus on improving processes and documentation, leaving the finance function in a stronger position at the end of the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End & Management Accounting

  • Own a significant portion of the management accounting month-end close.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations across the relevant areas of the business.
  • Investigate variances and ensure accounting entries are accurate, complete, and supported.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team to deliver an efficient and timely close.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
