Job Purpose

The Management Accountant is an integral part of the Leicester finance team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function within the business. The role involves assisting accounting personnel/management in the maintenance, reporting and management of the company’s finances.

Job Responsibilities/Key Accountabilities

  • To assist with the accurate and timely preparation & submission of monthly, quarterly and annual financial information (e.g. P&L’s, Balance Sheets, FRP, Cash Flow) that meets the needs of management, the company, government and statutory bodies;
  • To ensure financial consistency in accordance with SOX, Corporate Guidelines and support best practice approaches;
  • To provide local management with information and analysis in order to assist them with improved decision-making;
  • To ensure statutory compliance surrounding VAT, EC sales, Intrastat and payroll;
  • To work closely with the external SSC on the transactional service they provide to business including AP, AR, Interco and bank postings;
  • To work closely with SW centralised collection team in order to assist them with the on time collection of company’s debt and queries resolution;
  • To assist with the monitoring, recording and reporting of capital spend against capital projects;
  • To assist with recording and reporting of all company stocks including stocks of raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • To assist with all internal and external audit requests within the published timescale for these audits;
  • Be able to deliver business support to both profit centres and internal cost centres alike, manage priorities and demands on time accordingly;
  • Ensure that internal controls are complete, robust and effective in order to safeguard company assets.
  • To prepare and assist with preparation of Budgets and Forecasts.

  • At least 3 years experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing/commercial environment, ideally batch manufacturing with multiple customers.
  • Thorough understanding of internal controls and their implementation.
  • Ability to self motivate.
  • Experience of communicating at all levels.
  • Highly computer literate with advanced Excel modelling skills and presentation skills
  • High level of Numerical /Verbal reasoning skills

Working Environment

Travel when required a few times a year.
