A typical day as a Management Accountant (12 Month FTC)
No two days look exactly the same here, and that's part of what makes it work.
As our Management Accountant, you'll play a key part in keeping things moving for our business, our reporting and The Pros around you. You'll take ownership, solve problems properly, and work with people across the business to make things simpler, faster and better.
You'll be trusted to get stuck in, make decisions, and see things through.
12 month FTC | Hybrid — travel to Heathrow once a week until November, when we'll be exploring a more central London location. Limited, fully reimbursed travel to Manchester may also be required.
What you’ll be doing
As Management Accountant, you'll deliver accurate and timely internal reporting that supports the business in decision making and helps the Company meet its external reporting obligations.
This is a key role in producing the Company's results and ensuring the robustness of the financial control environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own the monthly accounting close, delivering accurate reporting in line with agreed timelines
- Take ownership of one or more process or functional areas across the Company
- Support process improvement initiatives across the finance function
- Support the testing and implementation of a new ERP system
- Ensure completeness of balance sheets with full reconciliations of designated balance sheet accounts
- Build and maintain an effective control environment around Company accounting processes, ensuring the integrity of financial data
- Provide ad-hoc commercial and financial support to Business Unit teams and Commercial Finance
- Support the provision of audit schedules and respond to audit queries
- Act as bank approver
- Backfill and support other roles within the team as required, particularly through the ERP implementation

What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who knows how to get things done and works well with others to make it happen.
You don’t need to tick every single box, but you’ll likely bring:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Previous experience of balance sheet reconciliation and ownership
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy, even under pressure
- A deadline-driven approach with the resilience to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Flexibility in approach and thinking to get the job done
- Strong Excel skills
