COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Absolute Financial Group Limited is a national independent financial adviser (IFA) consolidator launched in August 2025, focused on championing independent financial planning and delivering outstanding client outcomes. Supported by a dedicated and experienced management team with strong financial backing from Inflexion Private Equity and Tatton Asset Management plc, the group's mission is to build one of the UK's leading independent financial planning businesses.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Management Accountant will work on-site at our head office in Wilmslow in a full-time capacity, supporting financial decision-making through accurate and timely reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing management accounts, maintaining financial records, managing accruals and prepayments, and producing monthly financial statements. The role involves strong financial control, variance analysis, the integration of finance processes of acquired businesses into the group, and providing insight into financial performance to the senior management team. The Management Accountant will collaborate with colleagues in finance and across the business to improve reporting processes, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to robust financial controls. The position requires attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance Operations & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate issues, and ensure reconciling items are resolved promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of Board packs and investor reporting for the Private Equity finance team.
  • Support the annual audit process by preparing and providing audit samples, and work collaboratively with auditors and internal teams to resolve queries promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist with VAT returns, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements where required.

M&A & Integration

  • Assist with integration of finance processes, systems, and controls from acquired businesses.
  • Support the consolidation of acquired businesses into group reporting.

Process Improvement & Projects

  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improved quality of financial information.
  • Contribute to strategic projects and ad hoc initiatives led by the senior management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), with 0–3 years PQE.
  • Strong background in preparing or auditing management and statutory accounts.
  • Experience of accounting systems and process improvements desirable.
  • Exposure to M&A or Private Equity-backed businesses advantageous but not essential.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid technical accounting knowledge with high attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong Excel and good working knowledge of finance systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
