About Us

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is a defence engineering company based in the UK. We design, manufacture and support military vehicles used by the British Army and international customers.

Position Overview

This role acts as a critical link between the finance function and wider operational stakeholders. The successful candidate ensures robust financial controls, manages complex defence contract compliance, and provides strategic financial analysis to aid senior leadership decision-making across costbase, stock, investments, and costing/pricing rates.

What Will You Do

Financial Control & Reporting

  • Maintain absolute integrity of accounts within your area of responsibility by strictly adhering to Company Financial Policies.
  • Deliver accurate data during reporting processes to help senior leaders understand the cost base, stock levels, and rates.
  • Partner with cost centre managers to close out financial positions efficiently around key financial reporting milestones.
  • Rolling forecasts for costs, cash, and headcount within these areas, managing accruals and prepayments and balance sheet account reconciliations and action plans where appropriate.

Defence Compliance & Rates

  • Establish working relationships with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Cost Assurance and Analysis Service (CAAS).
  • Support the calculation, negotiation, and agreement of business charging rates with defence auditors.
  • Build financial forecasting models to calculate forward-looking and actual overhead rates, direct labour rates, and material handling.
  • Review internal overheads and labour costs to ensure they strictly meet the Allowable Costs statutory guidelines (Appropriate, Attributable, and Reasonable).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
