Management Accountant
Salary up to £50,000
Location: North Devon (remote / hybrid)
Overview of the Role
The Management Accountant plays a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, analysis and commercial insight that supports business decision-making. Working across Finance and the wider business, you'll help improve how financial and operational data is used to drive performance, providing valuable insight into project profitability, margins, utilisation and budgets. You'll also contribute to the implementation and ongoing development of an ERP system (Odoo) and reporting capabilities while maintaining strong financial control and supporting continuous improvement across the Finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting across multiple entities.
- Analyse financial and business performance, investigating key variances and underlying drivers.
- Develop and maintain management reporting, including KPIs, project profitability and commercial performance.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes.
- Work with budget holders to understand financial performance and investigate variances.
- Support the implementation and ongoing development of Odoo, taking a key role in building and developing financial and management reporting and working with developers where required.
- Support month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and other management accounting activities.
- Support VAT, audit and wider financial control requirements.
- Contribute to sales invoicing and key client finance processes.

Key Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, management accounting and financial controls.
- Relevant experience in a Management Accountant, Finance Analyst, Commercial Finance or similar role.
- Experience preparing or supporting monthly management accounts and month-end processes.
- Strong financial analysis and management reporting experience.
- Experience using integrated ERP systems such as Odoo, SAP or Oracle, and/or integrated CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent.

Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within a consultancy, professional services or other project-based business environment.
- Experience of project/client profitability, utilisation or recovery-rate reporting.
- Experience of multi-entity or multi-currency environments.
- Experience of BI or data visualisation tools.
