About the Role
Bryden Wood is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This role would suit someone with at least 3 years’ experience in management accounting, ideally within an architectural, professional services, or project-based business. You will support the Finance team with monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial analysis across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting through financial analysis and variance reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all reporting deadlines were met.
- Post and review journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and correction journals.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
- Process and review Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial controls.
- Prepare and process supplier payment runs, ensuring timely payments and effective cash flow management.
- Produce financial reports and management information to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
- Liaise with external auditors, preparing audit schedules and providing supporting documentation during year-end audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and strengthen financial controls.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Ideally 3+ years’ experience within an architectural or professional services business.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in budgeting and forecasting.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience of using Xero and related reporting tools for booking entries and reporting results is beneficial.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
