Your New Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Consulting Finance function. This role will be remote working with occasional travel to a local Amey office.

The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week.

The role sits in the Engineering business within the Consulting division primarily focused on reporting and analysing monthly performance, and the business's forecast and budget cycles. The role reports directly into the Finance Manager for Engineering and has interfaces with stakeholders across the business, and the rest of the Consulting finance team.

What you will do

  • Support the production of monthly management accounts.
  • Ownership of the project performance sheets for the relevant business streams within engineering.
  • Work with the business to resolve queries and understand business performance.
  • Input of monthly results into Group consolidation tool.
  • Completion of audit packs to assist in interim/annual audit process.
  • Support the business in populating their forecast and budget files, and the related summary files.
  • Understand and improve the WIP and Debt position within the relevant businesses.
  • Ensure the business maintains a clean balance sheet position.
  • Assist reporting financial information to non-finance in a way that can be understood, including monthly reports to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to produce ad hoc information/reports as requested.
  • Make recommendations to improve current systems and processes.
  • Cover for other management accounts and the Finance Manager as required.

What we are looking for

  • Qualified in Professional Accountancy Qualification – ACCA / CIMA
  • Experience in Management Accounts
  • Ability to achieve tight deadlines with a high degree of quality and understanding
  • Strong IT Skills ideally including good knowledge of Excel and SAP
  • Good knowledge of basic accounting practices, and experience of forecasting.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and build strong, positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Be proactive and organised to gain the correct information from stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Be able to work along and in a wider team
