Main Duties:
Management Accounting & Month-End Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
- Complete month-end activities such as journals, accruals, prepayments and revenue recognition.
Financial Analysis & Forecasting
- Analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts and prior year results.
- Provide clear commentary on variances, risks, opportunities and business trends.
Business Partnering & Commercial Support
- Work closely with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight.
- Challenge assumptions and support effective decision-making and budget management.
Project Performance & Cost Control
- Monitor project, contract and departmental performance.
- Identify margin improvements, cost-saving opportunities, process efficiencies and profitability enhancements.

Financial Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain strong financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, support audits, improve reporting processes and assist with the successful transition of ESM into Major Projects.
What we are looking for:
Qualified Accountant
- Newly qualified or qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with experience in management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Financial Control & Compliance
- Strong understanding of month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, accounting principles, financial controls, CIS, VAT and tax compliance requirements.

Analysis & Reporting Skills
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
- Experience analysing large datasets and turning financial information into meaningful business insights.
Stakeholder & Commercial Awareness
- Confident communicator able to influence and support non-finance stakeholders.
- Proactive approach to identifying risks, opportunities and improvements.
Industry & Systems Experience
- Experience in working capital and cash flow forecasting.
- Project accounting or construction industry experience advantageous and SAP knowledge desirable.
