About Select

Select is a complex £250m turnover business with a plant and equipment investment holding of £225m, investing approximately £30m-£35m annually in new plant and equipment. Supporting this investment is an asset finance portfolio exceeding £150m, making Select a fast-paced and commercially focused environment where finance plays a critical role in business success.

We're seeking a high calibre Management Accountant to join our team and support one or more Select divisions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive company, offering exposure to Business Unit Directors, Central Finance, and Commercial and Operational teams across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Management Accountant, you'll help provide the financial insight and support that enables the business to make informed decisions and drive performance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the division
  • Preparing monthly management account packs for Finance Leader review
  • Presenting divisional financials at monthly contract reviews
  • Business partnering with divisional leaders to drive divisional performance
  • Leading the budgeting and planning process within the division
  • Promoting financial understanding, controls and diligence across the business through engagement with non-finance stakeholders
  • Supporting cash management and asset controls
  • Leading divisional capital investment programmes and assisting in the preparation of capital business cases
  • Owning the divisional fixed asset register, ensuring assets are accurately recorded, depreciated and physically controlled

What we're looking for

We're looking for a fully qualified accountant who is keen to build a career in a highly commercial environment and enjoys working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.

You'll Bring

  • Commercial acumen and experience working across businesses and disciplines
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Experience in performance management, measurement and business case preparation
  • Strong Excel skills
