Management Accountant

Location: Chipping Sodbury

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Qualification: ACA, ACCA or CIMA Part-Qualified or Qualified

Are you an ambitious finance professional looking to take the next step in your accounting career? We're seeking a Management Accountant to join our finance team in Chipping Sodbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or qualified accountant who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with business partnering, analysis, and continuous improvement. In this role, you'll be responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, providing valuable financial insight to stakeholders, and ensuring the integrity of balance sheet reporting. You'll play a key role in helping the business understand its financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

As Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts for allocated business areas
  • Analysing and reporting variances against budget and forecast, providing clear commentary and recommendations
  • Completing month-end postings in line with reporting deadlines
  • Preparing full balance sheet reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies
  • Supporting Senior Management Accountants with complex accounting activities and projects
  • Building strong relationships with operational and management teams across the business
  • Providing financial guidance and explaining financial results to non-finance stakeholders
  • Responding to ad hoc financial queries and resolving complex issues
  • Taking ownership of the accuracy and completeness of reconciliations and financial postings
  • Identifying, proposing, and implementing process improvements to enhance reporting and efficiency
  • Ensuring stakeholders have the knowledge and understanding required to interpret their financial results

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualification or full qualification
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, or similar finance role
  • Strong experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and financial accounting systems
  • A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
