Working within FP&A

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, curious, and commercially minded individual to join our FP&A team as a Management Accountant. This is a key role that offers a strong blend of core management accounting and active commercial business partnering across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and the wider business.

The Role

You will act as a trusted financial contact for key stakeholders, supporting them with insightful analysis, accurate forecasting, and commercial advice to help drive divisional performance.

  • Commercial Commentary & Variance Analysis: Produce and distribute monthly financial reporting packs, delivering clear narrative on variances against budget and prior forecasts to help tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Planning & Forecasting: Play an active role in driving annual budgeting, 3-year business planning, and monthly rolling forecasts alongside the Finance Business Partner.
  • Financial Integrity & Controls: Oversee month-end ledger integrity by posting journals, managing accruals and prepayments and keeping balance sheet reconciliations airtight.
  • Business Partnering & Challenge: Attend and credibly contribute to meetings, positively challenging business assumptions and offering fact-led guidance to budget holders.
  • Scenario Analysis & Uncertainty: Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis where necessary to help the business navigate market uncertainty.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor internal controls, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve financial reporting, processes, and systems.
  • Audit & Ad Hoc Support: Manage audit queries for your division(s) and lead on ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
