Management Accountant

In the heart of the New Forest, Double H are a market leader in indoor plants, supplying UK supermarkets, garden centres and online retailers. We have invested heavily in the most modern plant production facilities in the UK, and are leading the industry with innovative, sustainable and efficient manufacturing practices. We are recruiting for a Management Accountant who will assist the team helping to achieve the strategic long and short-term goals of the business.

The Role

A key role within the Finance team, you will assist with the monthly management accounts and provide accurate reports and figures to key stakeholders within Double H, the role is a varied role which will include a range of activities along with some great training mentoring along the way:

  • Manage and support the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger Clerks.
  • Assist with credit control, debtor review and overdue balances.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the creation of monthly management accounts.
  • Analyse overheads, variances and cost control opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit EPR reporting.
  • Monitor capital expenditure and maintain the fixed asset register.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.

The Person

For Double H personality is just as important as skill, this is a hands-on role with lots of internal interaction, so building strong working relationships is key. We are looking for someone with experience who can drive our Finance team forwards, with great communication, organisation and management skills and understands the need to get this right for our business. You will enjoy bringing energy and positivity to everything you do whilst thriving on a fast pace of life.

This role is suited to someone who is full or part qualified and keen to develop their career.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and VBA automation.
  • Confident analysing large data sets and turning trends into clear insight.
  • Strong time management and proactive follow-up.
  • Solid accounting knowledge across management accounts, reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Commercially minded, with the confidence to challenge results and support decisions.
  • Clear communicator, able to explain finance to non-finance colleagues.
  • High attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Energetic, positive, and naturally brings a can-do attitude to your work.
  • Proactive, with the ability to think and act quickly.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
  • Genuinely invested in what we do and delivering it to a high standard.
