Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Management Accountant role based in Swindon. As a newly qualified, commercially minded Management Accountant with strong analytical skills, you will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, supporting decision-making processes that drive business performance.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within a growing organisation while developing your commercial and strategic finance expertise.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
  • Analyse financial performance, investigate variances, and provide meaningful insights.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial models to support decision-making.
  • Produce reports for senior management and board-level stakeholders.

Month-End & Compliance

  • Manage month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, VAT returns, and reconciliations through to trial balance.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and support year-end audit activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal controls.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Monitor performance against budget and highlight key risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with department managers to support cost control and financial planning.

Business Partnering

  • Provide financial insight, pricing analysis, and profitability reporting across the organisation.
  • Support operational teams in identifying efficiencies, growth opportunities, and value-driven decisions.
  • Present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews.

Operational Finance & Process Improvement

  • Drive process improvements, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Lead or support finance-related projects and procurement activities.
  • Manage purchase ledger processes and month-end close activities.
  • Oversee petty cash reconciliations, company vehicle fleet administration, and key supplier contracts including insurance, utilities, and waste management.
  • Support bookkeeping, payroll, and wider financial operations as required.

What we're looking for:

  • ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or actively working towards qualification.
  • Experience preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide clear insights.
  • Confident communicator who can work effectively with managers and stakeholders across the business.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
  • Proactive, organised, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume or labour-intensive environment would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the care sector is desirable.
  • Experience with Sage accounting software and process improvement initiatives is beneficial.
