Role: Management Accountant

Salary: £37,000 - £43,000

Benefits: Hybrid working, 3 days in the office, 2 days from home

Location: Manchester City Centre

Start Date: October/November

We're looking for a Management Accountant who wants full ownership of their numbers. This role is a genuine end to end MA role, ideal for someone stepping up into their first management accounts role with full visibility of the process in an SME, or someone more experienced who wants to own it all rather than one small piece of it.

You'll report to the Head of Finance and once settled into the role be empowered to take the lead role in the monthly finance meeting, presenting to senior stakeholders and telling the story behind the numbers rather than just reading them out.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the full month end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and a small amount of accounts payable
  • Complete balance sheet recs
  • Produce the monthly P&L with commentary
  • Run weekly flash reporting so the business always has an accurate, up to date view of performance
  • Carry out revenue analysis, spotting trends and flagging where things don't look right
  • Business partner with the wider team, translating the numbers into something non-finance colleagues can actually use
  • Lead the month end finance meeting, presenting results and explaining what's driving them
  • Get involved in process improvement outside of month end

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you

  • Upbeat, bubbly and the kind of person who becomes an asset to the office the moment you walk in
  • Wants to get stuck in and be part of a team, not just clock in and manage a spreadsheet
  • Takes genuine pride in your work with the attention to detail to back it up (this is key)
  • Enjoys speaking to people across the business as much as the numbers themselves
  • Gets a kick out of solving problems rather than just flagging them
  • Hands-on, end to end management accounting experience, or ready to step up into your first full end-to-end management accounts role
  • Qualifications are not essential. QBE candidates are very welcome. What matters is being able to do the job and being the right personality fit!
