Management Accountant
Birmingham (Hybrid) | up to £55k
Are you currently working in an accountancy practice and looking to make your first move into industry?
We're recruiting for a growing SME seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts preparation experience who wants to broaden their skillset and gain exposure to management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial finance.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in producing management accounts, supporting month-end processes and providing insight into business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L and balance sheet reporting
- Complete month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Analyse financial performance and investigate variances
- Produce KPI reports and management information
- Assist with year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements
- Support process improvements across the finance function

About You
- ACA / ACCA or CIMA Qualified
- Experience preparing accounts within an accountancy practice
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Good Excel skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with SME clients
- Proactive, organised and keen to develop commercially
