Management Accountant

Doncaster, South Yorkshire

We’re recruiting for a Management Accountant to join an established and growing finance function. This is a varied role offering responsibility across month-end reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, and regulatory reporting, with regular exposure to senior stakeholders.

You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider business to provide accurate financial information, support commercial decision-making, and identify opportunities to improve financial performance and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce financial reports and monthly CFO reporting packs.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
  • Complete variance analysis and provide clear commentary on business performance.
  • Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and supporting financial information.
  • Assist with weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activity.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Assist with year-end accounts, audits, and statutory reporting.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors where required.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and controls.
  • Present financial information and insights to senior stakeholders, including directors.
  • Contribute to wider finance projects and business change initiatives.
  • Attend quarterly budget meetings and provide financial input to decision-making.

  • Part or newly ACCA/CIMA qualified.
  • Experienced in a management accounting environment.
  • Advanced in Excel, with Power BI experience desirable.
  • Familiar with accounting systems.
  • Knowledgeable around accounting principles, financial controls, and relevant regulations.
  • Able to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, analytical, and commercially minded.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable handling confidential and commercially sensitive information.
