About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated management accountant (AAT/ACCA/finalist) to join the Management Accounts team to assist in the production of the Group’s monthly management accounts and supporting financial analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of the Group’s monthly management accounts
- Providing insightful financial analysis to senior leadership and operational teams
- Ensuring all input data has been correctly raised in the MCS RM system flowing through to the general ledger
- Month-end process documentation and journal postings
- Monthly reconciliation of key Balance Sheet nominal accounts
- Develop key working relationships with members of the Wernick Group at board level and country-wide operations
- Work closely with other Finance functions including Accounts Payable, Sales Ledger, Credit Control, and Cabin Fleet
- Reporting to Senior Management and Directors, providing thorough explanations for drivers of the monthly performance
- VAT return preparation and submission for all relevant operating companies
- ONS reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Supporting and providing information through the audit process
- All other reasonable ad-hoc requests from Senior Management
The Ideal Candidate Should Have
- Excellent communication skills; written and spoken
- Lots of energy, motivation, and enthusiasm
- Ability to multitask and prioritise work streams
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience with analysis, budgeting, and management information reporting
- Fast learner and able to apply skill set to new scenarios
- Exposure to year-end audit processes
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in Sage 200 and Sage 50

Required Criteria
- Hold AAT qualification, be ACCA part-qualified, or be an ACCA finalist
- Be able to work to tight deadlines
- Have a willingness and drive to learn
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel
- A high level of motivation, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to challenges
- Practical experience with Sage 200 and Sage 50 accounting software
- Valuable exposure to year-end audit processes
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex financial information clearly
Desired Criteria
- Experience in working in the construction, manufacturing, portable accommodation, or power generation sector
