PE Global is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a leading global engineering and energy organisation based in Stonehouse, Gloucester.
Job Details
- Location: Stonehouse, Gloucester
- Duration: 12 months
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Flexible hours across 5 days per week
- Pay Rate: £20.00 - £25.00 per hour PAYE
- Team: 4-person finance team
The Role As a Management Accountant, you will support the efficient and timely processing of general accounting activities, working across a varied finance function. You will provide important accounting and reporting support to the management team while ensuring company processes, policies and controls are followed accurately and within required deadlines. Your practical accounting experience, strong Excel skills and knowledge of ERP systems will be particularly important in this role. You will also have the opportunity to broaden your technical and interpersonal skills through on-the-job training and exposure to a range of finance activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile and review balance sheet accounts, including justification and ageing analysis.
- Compile and review lease schedules.
- Compile and review SOX control documentation.
- Assist with government reporting requirements.
- Liaise with shared service centres and overseas colleagues to ensure compliance with procedures, policies and controls.
- Support the preparation of month-end and management reports, including providing absence cover where required.
- Collate audit documentation and paperwork for external auditors.
- Assist the finance department and senior accounting staff with a range of activities, including accruals, records, filing and statements.
- Complete year-end accounting analysis and prepare accounting and tax summaries.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies, procedures and processes.
- Maintain compliance with financial and legal requirements.
- Follow all required health, safety and workplace procedures.

Requirements
- AAT qualified and working towards ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Previous experience working within a finance or accounting position.
- Strong practical accounting knowledge.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with good knowledge of Word and Outlook.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
- Flexible and willing to take on new challenges and develop technical knowledge.
