About the Role
As Management Accountant, you'll take ownership of the monthly management accounts process while partnering with colleagues across the business to provide meaningful financial insight and support continued growth.

Michael Page Finance is partnering with a well-established and growing SME based in Leeds to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to join a successful business where you'll have broad exposure across the finance function and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, supporting commercial decision-making and mentoring a recently qualified member of the finance team.

Description
- Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Leading month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Budgeting, forecasting and detailed variance analysis.
- Business partnering with finance and non-finance stakeholders to support commercial decision-making.
- Producing insightful financial analysis and performance reporting.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements across the finance function.
- Supporting year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements.
- Mentoring and coaching a recently qualified junior accountant, supporting their ongoing development.
- Assisting the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects and wider finance initiatives.
Profile
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience producing full monthly management accounts.
- Strong end-to-end accounting experience gained within an SME or owner-managed business.
- Excellent business partnering and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior finance professionals.
