We supply retail customers, restaurants and wholesale businesses while maintaining high standards of food safety, HACCP compliance and customer service. Role Description

The Management Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include preparing management accounts, monitoring budgets and forecasts, and producing variance analyses for senior stakeholders. The role involves maintaining and reviewing financial statements, overseeing accruals and prepayments, and ensuring that accounting records are up to date and compliant with relevant standards. The Management Accountant will collaborate with operational teams to interpret financial results, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support planning and performance reviews. The role also includes assisting with year-end processes, supporting audits, and improving financial controls and reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare management accounts and financial reports.
  • Maintain financial records and accounting documentation.
  • Assist with payroll, budgeting and VAT records.
  • Support stock costing and financial analysis.
  • Maintain HACCP documentation and food safety compliance records.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and business reporting.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting, with experience in management accounting and financial control.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and managing Accruals and other period-end adjustments.
  • Proficiency in accounting software like Quickbooks, Sage and Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and financial models, is desirable.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
