Alterna Search is partnered with a growing private equity investment firm looking to appoint a Management Accountant into its lean, high-performing finance team.
Following the successful raise of its latest fund, the business is actively deploying capital into new investments, whilst also managing a mature portfolio of existing investments, with significant exits expected by year-end. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business at an important stage of its growth, with exposure to both ongoing investment activity and the realisation of mature assets.
This is a hands-on, broad finance role within a lean private equity finance team, with responsibility across the firm's corporate entities and investment portfolio. The role would be particularly well suited to a mid-tier practice accountant looking to make their first move into private equity. Working closely with the investment team and wider business, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a strong understanding of how a private equity firm operates and play an important role within a growing finance function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
