Management Accountant – Part-Time
Chesterfield | 25 hours per week |
Connected Search Group is recruiting a Management Accountant on behalf of our client, a diverse and fast-growing group of businesses spanning sports travel, merchandise, coaching and events.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional to join a passionate, close-knit team and gain exposure to a genuinely varied group of businesses, while working part-time hours with real flexibility.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in the financial management of the business — preparing accurate management accounts, maintaining effective financial processes, and supporting the day-to-day finance operations across a diverse portfolio of brands. Initially offered on a temporary basis, the role is expected to move to permanent.

What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing monthly management accounts across multiple group companies.
- Processing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and deferred income.
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
- Completing bank reconciliations and supporting group cash flow forecasting.
- Preparing supplier payment runs and maintaining supplier records.
- Reconciling revenue from multiple booking and sales systems, and supporting stocktakes.
- Preparing VAT returns for review by the Financial Controller.
- Supporting annual audit preparation and liaising with external accountants and auditors.
- Building strong working relationships across the wider business and finance team.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a team.

Desirable:
- Experience preparing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
- Experience preparing VAT returns.
- AAT qualified, studying towards a professional accounting qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
