As a Station Management Accountant at Heysham 2 Power Station, you'll provide trusted financial insight, support business performance, and help station leaders make informed decisions that contribute to the journey towards An Electric Britain.
We're looking for a qualified accountant with a proactive mindset, strong stakeholder focus and the confidence to become a visible and trusted finance partner across the station.
This is a site-based role, with an expectation of working on site 3 to 4 days per week, working closely with colleagues across finance and operational teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitoring performance against budget, investigating and explaining variances between budget and actual costs, correcting any errors where required, and ensuring evidenced accuracy of monthly accounts
- Developing and distributing monthly financial reports to budget holders to track financial progress and performance on a weekly and monthly basis
- Providing supporting information for quarterly audit requirements, including accrual substantiations, tax packs, and internal controls assessments
- Completing monthly stock certificates and providing independent assurance that stock values are accurately recorded, through governance checks and spot reviews
- Identifying and communicating emerging risks, opportunities and performance trends, recommending mitigation actions to optimise business outcomes
- Monitoring project and portfolio performance through planning, timely reporting, analysis, forecasting, variance commentary and management insight to support informed decision-making

Who You Are
We're looking for a qualified Management Accountant who thrives on building relationships, delivering insight and influencing business decisions. You'll be adaptable, proactive and comfortable operating within a highly regulated environment while providing constructive challenge and support.
Do you offer...?
- A recognised professional accountancy qualification such as ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA, or ACCA
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- High levels of numeracy and analytical capability, including effective use of financial and IT tools
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple functions
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
Pay, Benefits and Culture
We are offering a starting salary of between £47,513 and £71,786, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.
