Description

Are you looking to join a successful and growing organisation who are committed to creating a great safe place to work where all employees have the opportunity to contribute, grow and develop? We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our GB Hire team in York for a period of 6 months.

As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering a range of business-critical finance projects, providing support with balance sheet reconciliations, ledger reviews, and the recoding of business units and cost centres.

Role Details

  • Annual salary up to £52,000 dependent on skills and experience.
  • Role based: York, YO32 9PT (must live within a commutable distance of York)
  • Contract type: Fixed Term Contract – 6 months

Responsibilities

In this role as Management Accountant, you will be required to:

  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasts to support business decision-making.
  • Manage and complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and contribute to finance projects.
  • Provide clear financial analysis and interpretation to managers, ensuring understanding of the financial implications of decisions.
  • Liaise with operational and project teams to monitor project performance, maintain margins, and control costs.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Offer financial guidance to colleagues to support adherence to financial controls and policies.

Our Ideal Candidate as Management Accountant

  • Educated to degree level with a professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance.
  • Experience within a project accounting or reconciliation focused role.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues.
  • Good communicator.
  • Good influencing and stakeholder engagement skills across both internal and external partners.
