Management Accountant

We’re recruiting for a Management Accountant position on behalf of a FMCG business based in Uxbridge (Hybrid - 2-3 days in, 2-3 days WFH)

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, with a dotted line into the Finance Manager, this role is pivotal in delivering timely and accurate management accounts to support decision-making across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of the monthly management accounts pack within timely deadlines;
  • Support delivery of annual and quarterly budgets build up and reviews;
  • Identify and analyse monthly variances between actuals and budget, providing clear narrative commentary to the findings;
  • Take ownership of balance sheet accounts reconciliations, for accurate reporting;
  • Support the year end procedure including assisting with auditors’ requests;
  • Assist the preparation of monthly EU VAT returns as well as quarterly submissions for UK VAT return;
  • Assist in the review of the sales and purchase ledgers;
  • Cross company communications with budget holders and other members of the wider business;
  • Promote a continuous improvement approach to business policy & processes;
  • Assisting the Finance Manager and Finance Director with other ad hoc duties.

  • Experience in a similar level management accounting position, with experience of managing the full month end process for a business
  • Part-qualified or finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • FMCG or Retail experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Confident communicator
