Management Accountant (Part-Qualified)

Location: City of London (Hybrid - 3-4 days office based)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Study Support

Your new role

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join the finance team. Reporting into senior finance leadership, this role will take ownership of the month-end accounting process, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities, whilst also supporting commercial decision-making through insightful financial analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial control, improving processes and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis.
  • Take ownership of month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, forecasts and cash flow forecasting.
  • Provide financial analysis and business partnering support to operational stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation of board reporting and management information packs.
  • Monitor financial performance and investigate variances, providing meaningful commentary and recommendations.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong financial controls are maintained.
  • Support year-end statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with FCA and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Support financial analysis relating to business opportunities, new product launches and acquisitions.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and systems.
  • Build strong working relationships across the business and provide financial insight to support decision-making.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA is essential.
  • Experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or Accountant position.
  • Previous experience producing full monthly management accounts.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Insurance or reinsurance sector experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills with experience using financial systems such as Xero or similar ERP platforms.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Commercially minded, proactive and keen to progress towards full qualification.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
