About the Role
We are looking for a proactive, detail-focused Management Accountant to join our Finance team at Oxford Airport. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the role supports accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, month-end activities, and UK and US Group reporting requirements. This varied role covers management accounting, balance sheet control, audit support, tax compliance, and business partnering. You will work closely with operational stakeholders and Finance colleagues to provide clear insight that supports performance and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring all month-end deadlines are met. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing general accruals
- Managing prepayments
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and processing additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
- Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations, including investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Completing other balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and control issues, and maintaining compliance with company policies
- Analysing overhead cost-centre variances
- Performing other ad hoc variance analysis
- Preparing overhead cost-centre reports and analysis to improve business understanding
- Maintain lease accounting schedules and records, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements.

Other Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly US Group reporting submissions, including start-up costs, add-backs, and other required financial information.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Act as a key Finance contact for internal and external audits, prepare supporting schedules and documentation, and help implement audit findings and process improvements.
- Assist with VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Support compliance with tax regulations and filing deadlines.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Part-qualified, finalist, or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent); qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered.
- Experience as a Management Accountant or in a comparable finance role.
- Strong knowledge of month-end accounting processes.
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting packs.
- Proven experience of balance sheet reconciliations and controls.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication and effective stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Consistently high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify and implement process and efficiency improvements.

- Group reporting experience in a multi-entity organisation.
- Experience in lease and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience coordinating or supporting audits.
- Experience in a fast-paced operational or aviation environment.
- Knowledge of US reporting requirements is advantageous.

- Audit and tax support requirements are completed successfully and on schedule.
- Operational stakeholders receive clear, useful financial insight.
- Finance processes and controls are continuously improved.
