A well-established and highly respected business services group based near Telford is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its growing finance team.
This is a genuine opportunity for someone with real ambition — a clearly defined progression path is in place, with the next steps into Financial Controller and Finance Manager positions available for the right person.
If you're qualified or newly qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), commercially minded and ready to make your next move count, this one is worth a serious look.
What you'll be doing:
- Producing accurate and insightful monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Preparing board-level reporting packs and supporting commentary for senior stakeholders
- Owning budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis — driving better decision-making across the group
- Business partnering with department heads and operational managers, providing meaningful financial insight
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
- Supporting year-end audit preparation and liaising with external auditors
- Contributing to KPI reporting, cost analysis and margin reviews
- Identifying and driving process improvements across the finance function
- Getting involved in wider group projects as the business continues to grow

What we're looking for:
- Qualified or newly qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Strong management accounts experience gained in a commercial or business services environment
- Solid technical grounding in UK GAAP and current reporting standards
- Advanced Excel skills, plus confidence working with mid-tier or enterprise finance systems
- Commercially astute — able to translate the numbers into insight the wider business can act on
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Well organised, deadline-driven and calm under pressure
- Ambitious and genuinely keen to progress — this role is designed with that in mind
