About us

Max Ventures Group is a growing property and investment business — a portfolio of companies with active acquisitions and new ventures in the pipeline. We work closely with an experienced finance partner who supports the group and its clients. As we grow, we're building a proper finance function from the ground up, and we're looking for the person to own it.

The opportunity

This is a rare chance to own a finance function rather than slot into someone else's system. You'll be the person who brings order and insight to the whole group — building the management accounts, the property-by-property reporting, and the live dashboards that show the business exactly where it stands.

It's a broad role by design. Alongside the core finance work, you'll have exposure to the full sweep of a property enterprise — acquisitions, company structures, compliance, and operations — working closely with the founder and an experienced finance partner who will support and develop you. As the group expands, so does the scope, the responsibility, and the reward.

What you'll do

  • Produce monthly management accounts across the group
  • Run property-by-property and portfolio-wide performance analysis (P&L reporting)
  • Build and maintain live dashboards showing the position of the businesses and portfolio
  • Prepare cash-flow forecasts and model working-capital requirements
  • Build budgets and run budget-versus-actual variance analysis
  • Oversee the bookkeeping and month-end process (a small part of the role — transaction volumes are low)
  • Prepare year-end schedules for review and sign-off by our external accountant
  • Support wider finance, compliance, and business administration as the group grows

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The person

We're looking for someone qualified and capable who wants more than a narrow bookkeeping seat — someone commercially minded who's excited to build systems, solve problems, and grow with a business that's going places. If you want variety, ownership, and a front-row seat in a scaling property group, this is it.

How to apply

Send your CV plus written answers to sarah@maxscottproperty.com for the four questions below (around 200 words each).

Applications without answers will not be considered.

  1. Describe a set of management accounts you produced end to end. What did you build, and what did the business learn from them that it didn't know before?
  2. Tell us about a dashboard or reporting tool you built. What did it track, what tool did you use, and who used it?
  3. Give an example of analysis you ran that changed a decision — the situation, your work, and the outcome.
  4. Describe a specific time you used an AI tool in your finance work — the task, the tool, and the result.
