Position: Management Accountant
Contract: Part time, permanent - 3 days / 24 hours, per week
Location: Reading / Hybrid
Salary: £29,600 - £32,000, dependent on experience

The Role
This is a hands-on role for an experienced Management Accountant who can independently manage the full management accounts process from start to finish. Reporting into the Finance & Operations Director, you will take ownership of delivering accurate, timely and insightful management reporting that supports the Senior Leadership Team with strategic decision making, while reviewing and improving existing reports.
The role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and is looking for a stable, part-time position where they can apply their existing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently managing month-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts to agreed deadlines.
- Working closely with colleagues across Finance and other business functions to gather, validate and interpret financial data.
- Supporting improvements to reporting processes, controls and governance.
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns.
- Supporting budgeting, cash flow planning and audits.
- Ad-hoc reporting as required by the Senior Leadership Team.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.

Knowledge and Skills
Required:
- Experience independently preparing full management accounts
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, with a track record of improving reporting processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong organisational and self-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions.
Desirable:
- Experience with Xero software
- AAT level 4 qualified or higher

This role is advertised as three days per week, although we can consider a working pattern across four or five shorter days where this works for both the candidate and the organisation.
